Display Field: WATERWAY_NAME
Type: Feature Layer
Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon
Description: Cardno were commissioned by Central Coast Council to undertake a Overland Flood Study for four catchments flowing into the Brisbane Water estuary. The Study Area lies on either side of the estuary. On the west, it extends from Woy Woy Bay to West Gosford while on the east, it encompasses the Green Point catchment. The flood extents were filtered to remove shallow depths area generated by the direct rainfall methodology. The criteria used to filter these shallow depths consisted of keeping areas where:Depth > 0.10 m; ORDepth > 0.05 m AND Velocity x Depth > 0.025 m2/s; ORVelocity > 2 m/sFurther to these criteria, “puddles” of less than 100m2 were also removed from the extent.
Description: Davistown catchment is a sub‐catchment of the Brisbane Water Estuary, which connects to Broken Bay. The Davistown and Empire Bay Floodplain Risk Management Plan (FRMP) has been prepared for Central Coast Council in accordance with the New South Wales (NSW) Flood Prone Land Policy and the principles of the Floodplain Development Manual (NSW Government, 2005).In addition to the FRMS and FRMP, a separate climate change adaptation study was undertaken by Council (Rhelm, 2020b) to identify feasible strategies to adapt the low lying areas of Davistown and Empire Bay to the impacts of sea level rise. The 1%AEP flood extents were filtered to remove depths less than 0.1m.

Display Field: WATERWAY_NAME
Type: Feature Layer
Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon
Description: The Killarney Vale and Long Jetty Catchments Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan has been prepared by Catchment Simulation Solutions in accordance with the requirements of the NSW Government’s ‘Floodplain Development Manual’ (NSW Government, 2005) and the State Government’s Flood Policy. The Killarney Vale and Long Jetty catchments include the suburbs of Bateau Bay, Shelley Beach, Long Jetty, Killarney Vale and sections of The Entrance. The catchments drain into Tuggerah Lake which forms the western boundary of the study area. Saltwater Creek is the major watercourse within the study area, with the remaining areas drained by constructed drainage channels and a sub-surface stormwater system. The catchments are largely urbanised with small sections of bushland and parklands. The following criteria were combined to form a “filtered” 1%AEP flood extent:Depth > 0.1 metres; ORDepth > 0.05m AND Velocity-Depth Product (VxD) > 0.025m2/s; ORVelocity > 2m/sAn additional criterion was applied whereby “puddles” with an area of less than 100m2 were also removed from the mapping.
Name: 1% Flood Extents - Lake Macquarie Catchments OFS 2021
Display Field: WATERWAY_NAME
Type: Feature Layer
Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon
Description: The Lake Macquarie Catchments Overland Flood Study covers the suburbs of Mannering Park, Doyalson North, Kingfisher Shores, Chain Valley Bay, Lake Munmorah, Crangan Bay, Summerland Point, Gwandalan and Point Wolstoncroft. The study area drains an area of about 30 km² to Lake Macquarie. Major natural channels within the contributing catchments include Karignan Creek, Tiembula Creek and Bonny Boy Gully. The study area also consists of a series of constructed drainage channels, a stormwater system with sub-surface piped drainage, and naturally formed overland flowpaths.Due to the nature and complexity of the hydraulic modelling, it was deemed appropriate to filter the design flood extents, such that only regions of flood depths greater than 0.15 m were included.
Description: The Northern Lakes FRMS&P has been prepared by Manly Hydraulics Laboratory in conjunction with Central Coast Council, in accordance with the New South Wales Government’s Floodplain Development Manual (2005) and the NSW Government’s Flood Prone Land Policy (2005).The study area includes the local catchments surrounding Lake Munmorah, Budgewoi Lake and the northern half of Tuggerah Lake.

Description: The supplied data are final outputs from the Tuggerah Lakes Flood Study Review (MHL2929, 2026) prepared by Manly Hydraulics Laboratory (MHL) on behalf of Central Coast Council. The model results represent existing conditions and are based on hydrologic and hydraulic modelling undertaken in accordance with Australian Rainfall and Runoff (ARR) 2019 and the NSW Flood Risk Management Manual. The study includes simulation of design flood events from the 20% AEP through to the Probable Maximum Flood (PMF), climate change scenarios, flood hazard mapping, flood function mapping and flood planning area mapping. Results are subject to the assumptions, limitations and methodologies documented in the Tuggerah Lakes Flood Study Review report and associated mapping appendices. All content within this dataset and the associated Tuggerah Lakes Flood Study Review is owned by Central Coast Council and is protected by copyright. Reuse of the study outputs or associated datasets for purposes other than those intended by Central Coast Council may result in error and should only be undertaken with appropriate professional consideration of the report methodologies, assumptions and limitations.

Description: Flood hazard mapping is for the 100yr event as defined in the Tuggerah Lakes Floodplain Risk Management Study & Plan (WMA Water, 2014). It should be noted that this hazard classification does not take into consideration flooding from other flood studies flowing into Tuggerah Lakes. Hazards are based on the categories (H1-H6) as defined in the Australian Disaster Resilience (2017) Guideline. Hazard descriptors are provided in the attributes. The FRMS&P did not provide H1-H6 hazards. These were derived in Council using the following criteria from the AR&R Hazard classifications:• H1 up to 0.3m depth• H2 up to 0.5m depth• H3 up to 1.2m depth• H4 up to 2.0m depth• H5 up to 4.0m depth• H6>4.0m depth

Description: Central Coast Council contracted Worley Parsons to create a 1 in 100yr flood surface covering the LGA, outside the catchment areas of the adopted flood studies. This was done for each of the former Gosford and Wyong LGAs. The GridFlow model essentially determined flowpaths across the surface of the DEM provided by Council. It is important to note that GridFlow surfaces should be considered as indicative only and are not recommended for setting strict planning constraints such as minimum floor levels.
